Hi, I’m Naomi — a 34-year-old teacher, mum, and SEN parent. I know first-hand how exhausting, isolating, and confusing it can feel to raise a neurodivergent child in a world that wasn’t built for them — or for us.

I’m a parent to a wonderful child with ADHD and Autism. I’m also dyslexic myself, and I’ve spent my career teaching and supporting children with additional needs in mainstream schools that too often miss the mark. I know how it feels to be in the middle — between advocating for your child, managing life’s everyday demands, and trying to hold yourself together.

Alongside parenting and teaching, I’m also supporting a loved one with an eating disorder. That lived experience has deepened my understanding of the emotional and physical toll of caregiving, and the importance of support that’s compassionate, practical, and real.

That’s why I created this space — to offer other parents the support I wish I’d had. Whether you’re looking for behaviour strategies, emotional resilience, or simply someone who gets it, I’m here.

The CARE Approach

During my time as a teacher I came across a wide range of behaviour. I was fortune enough to work in a caring school where the focus was on building relationships with children and helping them succeed by nurture.

I know not all schools are like this. Sadly there are still schools where children will miss play because they need to finish work or good behaviour is rewarded and bad behaviour punished.

And while it is important we teach our children values we think are important how we do this and how this is done in schools can mean everything to child.

At the end of the day our job is to build connections with children to understand their brains are still elvoving and to meet children where they are not where we think they should be.

So how do we do this through my research, teaching through a pandemic, my professional career, personal SEN parenting journey and career for my husband who has an eating disorder along side other complex health conditions I have come up the CARE method. If you would like to find out more about how this method works practically and how I can support you and your child please get in touch.
